Everyone is looking forward to Little Common’s Annual Summer Fayre on Saturday 16th July and keeping their fingers crossed for the weather. Games and prizes for all the family, entertainment, lots of craft and other homemade items in our community stalls – so much to enjoy! The Fayre will be held in the grounds of the newly refurbished Wheatsheaf Inn just off Little Common roundabout and starts at 3pm. Gates will be open from 2.30pm
Little Common and Cooden Business Association organises the fayre and is responsible during the year for providing the beautiful floral displays in the village as well as Christmas lights and other activities. It also aims to promote the great range of independent shops and businesses, in the village which makes Little Common a very special place to live and work.
The summer fayre is planned to ensure there is something for the whole family. All our favourite games will be there such as tombola, hoopla, human fruit machine, bowling for a pig, splat the rat, coconut shy and even a treasure hunt and special games for our youngest visitors! Have you bought your tickets for our Grand Summer Draw yet? Don’t forget you can win up to £200 to spend with any member of the Association. These members are listed in your entry programme which will also give you a chance to win a separate prize. Tickets for the Draw will be on sale at the Fayre but you can buy them now at Betts and Loyd, Cream, DarnKnits, Espresso Max, Touch of Glamour and the Wheatsheaf Inn.
As well as winning prizes you can browse the community stalls selling a wide range of goods: crafts, cards, books, plants and flower arrangements and various home made goods. Why not treat yourself and have your fortune told! We have live music from Tensixtysix Jazz Band all afternoon and in the evening the Wheatsheaf Inn is hosting a karaoke party for all those aspiring X factor hopefuls (ear plugs optional!)
Feeling tired? Don’t worry you will be able to enjoy a range of refreshments to help you through the day and evening. Try our BBQ, choose from our splendid range of delicious homemade goodies as well as ice cream to cool you down if the weather is too warm. Tea, coffee and other drinks will be available indoors and from the refreshment stall.
So make a note of the date and time for a perfect summer treat as well as supporting your local village. We hope to see you there!
