Sunday December 4th
This year we started at the Roundabout earlier at 4.45pm as the new owners of the Wheatsheaf Andy and Helen served Mulled wine and mince pies. The Christmas tree lights were then switched on at 5.00pm by the Mayor of Bexhill Councillor Stuart Wood.
After this we went to the Community Centre in Shepherds Close for the Community Carol Service where we were joined by Father Frais from St Marks Church. We had Senlac Bell Ringers playing for us and pupils from Little Common Primary School followed by Little Common Players singing some festive songs.
Chairman David Dixson presented donations from Little Common Business Association to Little Common Community Centre for their roof fund, Senlac Bells, St Marks Church who asked for their donation to go to the community centre and The British Legion War Memorial fund.
Father Christmas joined us around the roundabout and again after the service when the children were able to visit him and receive a present.
Finally we served refreshments of hot soup, jacket potatoes and mince pies all locally produced.
This event is organised as a THANK YOU to the local people who support Little Common all year round.

Touch of Glamour's new shop was officially opened on November 5th by David Beckham (celebrity lookalike) pictured right with owner Kathy Harmer
Touch Of Glamour Move
Following the closure of Carmelina at the end of August Kathy Harmer has decided to relocate her Wig and Dress Agency into Carmelia's premises.
Kathy is busy preparing for the move and is excited about expanding. She says
"The new premises provide much better facilities for my clients having purpose built changing rooms for the Dress Agency side of the business and separate private fitting room for wig & hairpiece fitting.
The shop has more space to display the quality used clothes & accessories while enjoying a more prominent position in the village.
I have been in business in Little Common around 4 years now and just love the community spirit and support from both fellow traders and customers alike!"
The old shop will close on Friday October 28th and the new one will open on Monday October 31st.
Other Changes in the Village
Sadly during the summer Mace stores in Bixley Parade and Little Common Dental Practise in Clifton Chambers both closed due to the owners ill health.
Mace is still empty but the dentist premises reopened recently with a new Dentist.
Burgess & Co will be opening a branch of their Estate Agents in Cooden Sea Road soon. So the village will finish the year as it started with just 2 empty premises. It is good that local people are supporting their local shops and community and Little Common is continuing to thrive during this long recession.
