Little Common and Cooden are ideally situated between lovely rural scenery, including the Highwoods ( a site of Special Scientific Interest) with woodland walks, and the fabulous shingle beach at Cooden Beach, popular with windsurfers and kite surfers.

Badminton
Birkdale Badminton Club
Based at the Little Common Community Centre, the Club meets weekly on Friday afternoons. We are actively seeking more like minded people, who feel that winning is not as important as enoying themselves, to play Badminton for a bit of exercise and a lot of fun. Exercise Classes
The Fitness League
The Fitness League is a ntaionwide organisation that aims to promote fitness through exercises based around toning, mobilising, stretching, posture and balance. Extend Exercise, Little Common
Extend exercise classes are suitable for young and old, but these gentle exercise sessions are particularly suitable for older people and those with limited mobility. Classes take place in St. Marks Church Hall, Little Common. For more details email Julie Camden-Field.

Art & Photography
Little Common Art Group
Weekly art group that meets in the Community Centre. All types of media are tried, from water colours, gouache, line and wash, pastels, acrylic and oil paint. The Group also offers outdoor painting trips and some social events. Membership is currently full but anyone interested can come along twice as a Visitor for £1 per visit, by arrangement. Little Common Photographic Club
Photography for all ages, for competition and entertainment. A full programme of lectures, competitions and practical evenings, plus events arranged with similar clubs in the county. Little Common Bridge Club
Weekly Bridge on Thursday afternoons, based at the Little Common Community Centre. This year the Bridge Club will be celebrating it's Golden Anniversary. Guests and new members are welcome and we play both Acol and the Phony Club to social standard. The Whist Group

Flower Arranging
Little Common Village Flower Club
Meets at the Community Centre on the 4th Friday of each month, where there are qualified demonstrators arranging flowers (usually with a theme or title). Highwoods Preservation Society
Highwoods is one of the few surviving examples of traditional coppiced woodlands left in East Sussex. The woods are designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and the 'Sessile Oak Coppice' is said to be the finest in southern Britain. Performing Arts
Little Common and Bexhill Players
Recent shows have included 'Dick Turpin', 'Steel Magnolias' and 'A Recipe for Murder'. The Players are always looking for new people to join, whether as cast, crew or chorus. With each production there is a charity performance and the Players have supported a number of charities including Macmillan Cancer Care and the Association of Carers. Weekly rehearsals are held Tuesday evenings at Little Common Community Centre when you can also contact Graham (01424 842371) for details.
Theatre Sense
Based at Little Common Community Centre, Shepherds Close, Little Common, Bexhill-on-Sea TN39 4SQ , Theatre Sense offers fun lessons in Singing, Drama and Dance for 5-16 year olds. Sequence Dance Club
The Club meets every Saturday evening from 7.30 to 10.00 pm at the Community Centre. We have members from as far afield as Hastings and Eastbourne and always welcome new members, although a basic knowledge of ballroom dancing is needed. People are welcome to come along and see for themselves if they would be interested in joining. New dances are invented each year so there is always something new to learn. Little Common Townswomen's Guild meets at Little Common Community Centre, Shepherds Close, Little Common at 9.45am on the fourth Thursday of each month. We have visiting speakers, an active drama group, go on organised outings to local places of interest and provide opportunities for taking part in Arts and Crafts, Rambling and holidays. The Cooden Millenium Afternoon Townswomen's Guild
With an active social conversation group, Arts & Crafts Group, luncheon club and outings the CMATG meets weeklu on the first Wednesday of each month (except August). Little Common Women's Institute
Meet at Little Common Community Centre on the third Wednesday of each month (except August); with speakers on a variety of subjects.
