This year we had a change of venue and held the Country Fayre in the grounds of St Martha's church. The new venue was a huge success allowing more room for the various stalls and also facilities indoors for cream teas and a welcome cup of tea. We also had a BBQ serving delicious sausages and beef burgers from Betts Butchers served in bread rolls from Earls Bakery.
The weather was also kind to us and a good time was had by all.
Once again Little Common had a glorious display of flowers around the village.
The Little Common Business Association added two new sets of hanging baskets in Cooden Sea Road this summer to extend the flower displays.
Little Common was entered in Bexhill in Bloom and won the Bexhill Observer Cup for the best overall area award. We were also delighted to win two certificates in the South East in Bloom competition. The first being a thriving level 4 award in the It's Your Neighbourhood category category. The second was a certificate of excellence.
The photo shows David Dixson, Chairman of Little Common Business Association with Sandra Melvin, Chair of Bexhill in Bloom receiving one of the certificates at the South East in Bloom ceremony, held on Friday 9th September in Gillingham.
The cup and certificates can be seen in various shop windows around the village during the winter.
