The annual switching on of the Christmas Lights and carol Service was held on Sunday December 6th. As usual we started on the roundabout switching on the lights and then went to the Community Centre for the Carol Service.
First we were entertained by Quintasia singers and local Brownies. Then we were joined by ministers from three local churches.
Then for the children it was off to Father Christmas's Grotto to be given an early Christmas present. Finally everyone enjoyed refreshments provided by the Little Common Business Association.
This year we also held a SPECIAL FESTIVE SATURDAY on December 12th. Despite it being a bitterly cold day the traders had various stalls in the village and Charlie the Clown entertained the children. Father Christmas also popped in to say hello.
The LCBA held one of their popular Quiz evenings on January 29th. This was very well supported and the hall was packed. Half way through the quiz we enjoyed a Fish and Chips supper. The evening raised a total of £470.03 for LCBA funds.
In the spring we welcomed a change of owners to Reynolds Hardware and Expresso Max. Solar Water Heating and Greystones Estate Agents both opened in Cooden Sea Road and M C Glass welcomed Ditsy's jewellers into their showroom. Ditsy's is run by Peridot a long established jewellers in St Leonards on Sea.
