Happy New Year to all residents of Little Common
Thank You to those of you who contributed to our fund raising efforts during the year which enabled us to light up the village in such a brilliant way this year. It helped to make our village Christmas Extravaganza on Saturday 5th December 2015 even brighter! It was also thanks to folk behind the scenes who sorted out the red tape as well as the practicalities of wiring up the street lights – neither of which were straightforward tasks I can assure you! With your further help we hope to continue to add to the lights year on year so do continue to support us wherever you can – maybe starting with our annual quiz at the beginning of February (see details in Quiz News).
2016 brings a couple of changes in the village, sadly in November the Record shop relocated to Bexhill but premises like that in Little Common do not stay empty long so it is already rented and something new will open there soon. A new addition to the village will be The Everhot Studio at 1 Peartree Court, Peartree Lane. This will open on Saturday January 23rd with cooking demonstrations and food tastings.
Have you noticed that since the Post Office was refurbished last year they have new longer opening hours? They are now open from 9.00am – 5.30pm Monday to Saturday.
Finally Little Common Playgroup are pleased to announce that they are merging with the Fellowship of St. Nicholas (a local children’s charity) and moving to new premises in Birkdale to form Little Common Nursery.
Claire Todd, the Chair of the management committee said, “Although we are sad to be leaving the Community Centre we are pleased that we are staying in the Little Common area. This is a great opportunity to improve our facilities for the children and offer longer opening hours for families. All our dedicated and experienced staff will be moving to the new site. They are our biggest asset and without their support we would not have been able to take this important and exciting step.”
Little Common Nursery opens on Monday 11 January 2016. For further information please contact Gill Richardson on 07786621316.
