A new competition was launched this year to encourage retailers to add colour to the Village and enhance the fabulous baskets and troughs already provided by Little Common & Cooden Business Association.
Judges where Keith Walter, Councillor Stuart Earl, and Chair of the Business Association Kathy Harmer. Kathy Harmer said retailers made a great effort, notably Brenda Freeman and her girls at The Village Hair Shop, who received a runners up certificate,they had a pretty displays outside their own shop but, also took it on themselves to cultivate the neglected beds outside the Coop! And what a difference it has made!
However the winner was St Leonard’s Glass, Sandra and Miriam provided an amazing display with plenty of colour and planting schemes, and not a weed is sight! Well done guys! They received a certificate and the Keith Walter Shield, a new initiative which recognises and acknowledges the efforts made by Keith maintaining the wonderful floral displays in our Village throughout the summer over the years!
